Havelock Community Centre is proudly situated in the centre of Southsea, providing a welcoming, charity run space for community groups, classes and private hires.     As a registered charity, we rely on the support of our users and local partnerships to keep delivering valuable services - from skills workshops and social groups to health and recreational activities. Whether you're looking to learn, share, or just take part, our door is always open.

    Founded by local residents in 1985 and officially opened in 1988 by the Princess Royal, Havelock has grown with the needs of our community. Our much-loved Garden Room now offers a peaceful space with access to our hidden garden and is a favourite for group hire.

    Supported by Portsmouth City Council, managed by the community.

    Our vision is to be a safe, accessible and inclusive hub - valued by all who live in and visit our area. We support education, wellbeing, employment, culture and social connection through a rich mix of community-led events and services.

    As a charity, we rely not only on our staff but also on an amazing team of volunteers - who help run classes, support events, staff reception, and serve as trustees.

    We’re always looking for new volunteers. Whatever your skills or time, there’s a role for you - whether it’s making tea, doing odd jobs, or helping lead the way as a trustee.

  • Our committee board works with the Centre Manager - Amy Feist and the centre team to explore all possibilities and work towards the vision for the centre in the community.

Hall & Turf Makeover!

We're thrilled to announce that thanks to generous funding of £15,817 from The National Lottery Community Fund and National Lottery Players, our community hall floor and outdoor astro turf have recently had a makeover.

This support means a safer, more welcoming space for all our groups, events and activities.

Warm Spaces

Thanks to the ASDA Foundation, Havelock received £600 towards their core costs over the winter months.

This funding helps to keep the centre warm and comfortable for all of our guests including our Warm Spaces group - every Monday afternoon at Havelock.
